Special Material Addressed Explosion
Custom Rubber Corp. assisted our customer in developing a new rubber formulation to specifically resist degrdation from ozone and flue condensate in furnaces. The end user had just experienced a furnace explosion and determined one of the causes to be a failure in the convoluted rubber drain tube.
After working with one of our key rubber material suppliers, Custom Rubber Corp. perfected a rubber material that met all our customer's requirements but also processed well for these convoluted rubber tubes and rubber connection elbows.
Our customer uses two sized of convouted rubber tubes - one is approximately 14" long and the other is approximately 8" long. Both rubber tubes have convolutes that run the leng of the tube, with short straight sections that are used for labels and clamps.
Custom Rubber Corp. developed very productive tooling with a rotating core bar, and also developed a testing station where all the convoluted rubber tubes get tested for holes/leaks prior to shipment to our customer.
