Jack Screw Padding - Take 2
This is the second version of a similar product Custom Rubber Corp. has made
for this supplier to the Transplant Automotive manufacturers. The tough, abrasion
and oil resistant Nitrile rubber basket fits around a threaded rectangular
nut and travels back and forth on the jack screw to adjust the seat position.
The rubber part's critical function is at either end of
the track to insure there is no metal to metal contact. (Continued below.)

Custom Rubber Corp.'s proven formula works well in the
application but requires a very sophisticated mold to insure the rubber part
doesn't split as it is removed from the mold. After some intial failures on
prototypes made in Japan, the customer was re-assured by the performance of
the parts manufactured by Custom Rubber Corp. - they were made of a superior
material.
