If you have existing tooling to produce your rubber product, but are not satisfied
with your current vendor/supplier, Custom Rubber Corp. can help. We have assisted
a number of our customers in moving their existing tooling to Custom Rubber
Corp. quickly and with minimal interruption in supply. Typically, there is
some minor work that has to be done to insure the tool fits in our equipment
and can be run safely but for any number of our customers. This small expense
is well worth it.
Depending on the material specification and current source, Custom Rubber
Corp., in many instances, can continue to purchase the exact same material
from the exact same source. If the current vendor/supplier is controlling the
raw material, Custom Rubber Corp. and its raw material partners can quickly
develop a material that meets the specifications required. If the part has
no documented specifications, Custom Rubber Corp. can help develop those specifications
and the material to meet them, given the environment and application of the
product.
The fact that we have retained over 98% of our customers since 1980, means
that this will likely be the last time you have to look for a new vendor/supplier.
Custom Rubber Corp. has a long tradition of helping customers who's supply
chain is interrupted or whose suppliers go bankrupt. Our mission statement:
RESPONSIVENESS ~ FROM DESIGN TO DELIVERY characterizes our entire organization.
We pride ourselves in having the supplier partnerships and internally streamlined
processes that allow us to react quickly to customers' needs.
On February 20, 2008, Johnson Rubber Co. announced it will close down the
headquarters building in Middlefield, Ohio, and its subsidiary, Norbalt Rubber
Corp., in North Baltimore, Ohio. Both Johnson Rubber and Norbalt Rubber Corp.
will stop production in April of 2008. Custom Rubber Corp. had close ties
to Johnson Rubber Co. and Norbalt Rubber Corp., including assisting with
excess production in order to keep Johnson Rubber and Norbalt Rubber customers
supplied without interruption.
If you have tools and/or products that were historically produced by Johnson
Rubber or Norbalt Rubber, contact Custom Rubber Corp. today and we can work
with our contacts at Johnson Rubber and/or Norbalt Rubber to move your molds
and take up production of your parts so there is no interruption in supply.
With few exceptions, Custom Rubber Corp.'s equipment can match the capabilities
of the equipment at Johnson Rubber and/or Norbalt Rubber.
Additionally, although Johnson Rubber and Norbalt Rubber developed their
own formulas which will not be available after the facility closes, Custom
Rubber Corp. works with a number of material suppliers and will be able to
develop and submit for approval alternate compounds with very short turnaround.
In October, 2003, Castle Rubber closed their doors, and Custom Rubber
Corp. was there to assist Castle's old customers in securing needed product.
Custom Rubber Corp. is thrilled to say that more than 15 former Castle Rubber
customers are now pleased to call themselves customers of Custom Rubber Corp.
As
a result of the difficult economy and rising raw material prices, the molded
rubber industry continues to be plagued by bankruptcies. In Toledo, Ohio,
Plabell Rubber Products Co. closed their doors with no news on whether operations
will continue. Unfortunately, many of the customer-owned tooling in the facility
may never be recovered by Plabell's customers.
If you were formerly supplied
by Plabell Rubber Products, please don't hesitate to contact
Custom Rubber Corp. Plabell was a quality producer of rubber products
for appliance manufacturers and other general industries. Plabell's role
in the local Toledo economy will be missed, but Custom Rubber Corp. is located
in Clevelandwhich
is only 1-1/2 hours from Toledoso freight
costs should be very competitive to what Plabell's customers were used to
paying.
Custom Rubber Corp. has equipment that is similar to Plabell Rubber's,
including injection molding machines and compression machines. Plabell supplied
parts that were injection molded, transfer molded and compression molded
with a variety of rubber materials; Custom Rubber can meet or exceed any
material requirements and may be able to recommend an alternate manufacturing
process (explore injection molding instead of compression molding) to maintain
cost competitiveness.
Another company, Nazar Rubber Co. in Toledo, Ohio, also
closed their doors after more than 57 years. Nazar produced industrial rubber
products for a wide range of business. Custom Rubber's customer base is similar;
we service customers who buy anywhere from five pieces per year to over one
million pieces per year. If you were purchasing products from Nazar Rubber,
please don't hesitate to contact Custom Rubber Corp. to see how we can assist you
in securing the rubber components you require.
IMCO Inc., a rubber manufacturer based out of Huntington, Indiana went out of business in 2009. Customers who once relied on Imco as their custom molder of engineered high performance rubber components are now seeking a new supplier. With over 20 years of rubber molding experience, Custom Rubber Corp. can meet the same needs for precision parts, rubber bonded parts, and shaker screen products IMCO was known for. Whether it's gas valves, trunnion seals, valve steam seals, engine mounts, silicone parts, connectors, rubber to metal bonding, or ball joint seals; Custom Rubber Corp. can supply you with the IMCO parts you're looking for.
As a long-time member of the rubber manufacturing community, Custom Rubber Corp. doesn't like to see any of it's fellow rubber manufacturers, such as IMCO, go out of business. However, we continue to focus on the customers who need custom molded rubber parts. Whether you used to buy parts from IMCO Inc., or any other manufacturer of rubber parts. Don't hesitate to contact Custom Rubber Corp

At Custom Rubber, we never
like to see other rubber companies go out of business. But our number one
priority is our customers, and we really hate seeing customers from companies
