We are currently seeking a Mill Operator to join our team as a result of recent growth. Responsibilities include:
- Warming up and preparing compounds for the Conventional and Injection molding departments
- Following our corporate policies of Safety, Quality, and Productivity
- Employ established set-up and Standard Operating Procedures which pertain to the machines, tooling, gaging, and other necessary equipment
- Safely produce quality products within company policies
- Possess and when necessary, utilize the authority to stop any production operation which is unsafe or upon learning that the customer's expectations are not being met through the current production method.
- Notifying a supervisor immediately upon finding a safety issue
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience within the rubber industry
- Ability to read with comprehension and write legibly
- Employ math skills of addition, subtraction and multiplication
- Physically able to unload 40-50 pound rolls of compound from the 2-Roll Mill. Use a mill knife safely and efficiently
- Must have reliable transportation and an acceptable attendance record
- Comply with all established company practices and procedures
- Possess computer skills to effectively maintain inventory and electronic production records
- Understand and perform all work with team concepts in mind
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mill area and inventory
- Understand quality expectations of the customer
- Read and understand the safety and operational procedures relevant to the Mill
- Understand and exhibit safe working practices with all machinery, gaging, instrumentation and tooling required in the milling process
- Understand the basic relationships between time, temperature and pressure as they relate to elastometric products
- Exhibit excellent motor skills and the hand strength to operate a 2-Roll Mill
- Possess organization and discipline to follow mix instructions and precise formulas for compounds
- Must wear approved PPE as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
