Prototype Molded Rubber Hatch Seal for NASA

When NASA was searching for a rubber molding company to produce a scaled-down prototype version of a hatch seal to be used in the International Space Station, they contacted Custom Rubber Corp. Once they had reviewed Custom Rubber Corp.'s capabilities, NASA added us to their approved vendor list, and we immediately began researching materials and building a tool to mold the prototype. Working with our strategic raw material providers, Custom Rubber Corp. engineered a low-outgasing Fluorosilicone that met the material specifications provided by NASA. In a display of Custom Rubber Corp.'s rubber molding expertise, the very first part out of the mold fit NASA's requirements perfectly and was determined to exactly match to the steel ring against which it was designed to seal.
