Rubber Transformer Housing

Custom Rubber took over existing tooling for a product when our customer couldn't get the consistent quality and reliable delivery that they required. As a manufacturer of portable power management equipment, our customer has a family of parts that are a distinct yellow color and must be cosmetically perfect in order to maintain and develop their brand image. Custom Rubber was up to the task and has been satisfying this customer for years. (Continued below.)

This transformer housing weighs over two pounds and has a threaded aluminum insert that is bonded during the vulcanization portion of the molding process. The part is molded from a proprietary vinyl-nitrile blend that is engineered to be very non-conductive and also oil resistant. After molding, our customer installs a portable transformer in the base of the part with a wire connection feeding through the aluminum insert. The part design allows for complete protection of the transformer in a drop-proof rubberized covering that withstands any and all abuse it experiences.
