Rubber to Metal Product Samples
Rubber Bumper with Metal Bolt
Custom Rubber Corp. used its expertise in bonding rubber to metal for these
bumper bolts. A hexagonal molded rubber head forms around the rounded head
of the metal bolt insert. (Continued below.)

The bolt has a unique radius because of the customer's
tool cutting method. Pressure keeps the metal bolt insert in place as rubber
is injected into the mold. During the molding process, rubber encapsulates
the head of the metal bolt insert. The design of the of the mold and finished
molded rubber part, as well as the process, ensures that the metal insert will
not rotate or slip when the rubber head is turned.
When bonding rubber to metal, mechanical encapsulation can be a very cost
effective way to bond the rubber to the metal insert. Mechanical encapsulation
eliminates the need for specialty adhesives and makes it easier to retrieve
the metal insert for reuse in case of a fallout. Let Custom Rubber Corp. help
you determine the best way for you to bond metal to rubber. Contact
