Metal Vacuum Seal Ring with Bonded Rubber Bead
A manufacturer of high-end vacuum valves and gages asked Custom Rubber Corp.
to take over some existing tooling because their supplier at the time couldn't
make good parts. The molds were not well cared for, but Custom Rubber was able
to economically repair the obvious damage and run quality parts.

This part has very little rubber on it, but what is there
has to be molded exactly and without crushing the fragile aluminum insert.
The thin aluminum ring is sandwiched in the center of the mold and two rubber
rings are bonded to each side as shown in the photo. The rubber is transfer
molded from both the top and the bottom of the mold.
