The device pictured here is a prototype of a new orthodic used to assist patience
with ankle issues. Most exterior orthodics for ankles have steel hinges that
are spring-loaded, but the steel hinges are cumbersome and heavy. This innovative
design relies on a specially designed "rubber band" that fits over
two pins. The range of motion can be easily adjusted by changing the colored
metal spacer. (Continued below.)

The rubber formula is specially designed to function with
the same resistance and spring under any temperature and environment, and it's
designed to outlast the plastic outer casing. The product has undergone extensive
cycle testing to confirm that the resistance created by the custom rubber part
does not change over time.
