Custom Molded Rubber Pushbutton Grommet
A customer contacted Custom Rubber Corp. wanting a rubber grommet to protect the pushbottons of their actuators. The rubber pushbutton grommet is designed to protect the equipment from damage that would result from splashing water or dust by sealing the space in the actuator where
the pushbutton is located. (Continued below.)

(Ref. 105640)
The protective nature of these rubber pushbutton grommets meant that they needed to fulfill certain specifications to be useful in the customer's application. One important aspect of the grommets is their material. Custom Rubber Corp. chose a rubber compound that would permit the grommets to withstand an extensive range of temperatures, from a high of 185 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of -40 degree Fahrenheit. The design of the rubber pushbotton grommets is also crucial since each grommet must sit securely in place and not be shifted by repeated use. Custom Rubber Corp. chose a design that perfectly shapes the middle of the rubber grommet
to be in contact with the pushbutton and is flexible enough to be pressed without
shifting the outer grommet out of place.
