Molded Rubber Sway Bushings

Pictured below are molded rubber sway bushings for an electronic automation application. Fit and dimensional tolerances are critical to the function of these rubber sway bushings. The rubber's dynamic response is integral to the performance of the electronic components of an automation assembly. These molded rubber sway bushings function as guides that fit into the tubes of an automation assembly. Although the configuration does not appear to be complex, there was very little room for variation in the dimensions when molding these rubber parts. The outer diameter of the molded rubber sway bushings needs to fit securely into a compression nut. Likewise, the interior holes molded into these rubber parts serve as guides for four small gage wires. The size and location of the holes are critical to performance, as they keep the wires properly oriented in the assembly.
