Protective Molded Rubber Instrument Cover with Integrated Belt Clip

Our customer came to us needing a solution to their problem. Their electronic measuring devices were failing in the field due to normal, everyday abuse: accidentally being dropped on the ground, being inadvertently knocked off a table, and the occasional fall from a loose holster. Using the CAD model of the plastic housing as a base, Custom Rubber Corp. designed a snug-fitting protective rubber case that wraps around and protects the measuring device. To protect the sensitive measuring probe from falls, two protruding ridges were included in the bottom of the rubber case.

To improve upon and enhance the original design, Custom Rubber Corp. collaborated with the customer to integrate a standard, off-the shelf belt clip into the cover. The rubber flap on the back of the part holds the plate for the clip and reveals a round, locking head. While the clip can easily be removed from the case, it is engineered to never come loose on its own, which adds another layer of protection for the probe.

Custom Rubber Corp. used its signature material in molding this product: a durable non-marking, non-blooming, ozone resistant rubber.
