Broadband Over Power Lines (BPL) Unique Application
The relationship between Custom Rubber Corp. and a leading BPL provider and innovator
continues with two variations of a node: one for installation when the power is off and one one for installation with a hot stick. (Continued
below.)

(Ref. 105508/105518)
Custom Rubber Corp. designed in conjunction with our customer these two products that
utilize three primary components: 1)
a ferrite core to create the magnetic field, 2) a heat-resistant coaxial cable, and 3) a durable, functional rubber
cover that protects the ferrite cores and the connection between the coaxial cable
and the ferrite. This cover design also encapsulates the high-voltage power line, effectively securing the whole unit in place. Once protected by the cover, the unit can then be installed underground and begin to function as the origin for the data transmission and collection off the power lines.
Custom Rubber Corp. specifically engineered the rubber material to possess the right amount
of conductivity to ensure the proper transmission of data across the cable, moving from the power line
to the electronics on the other end.
As a result of this project, Custom Rubber Corp. has perfected the technique of creating a mold that will form a fully complete rubber part capable of encasing the terminal end of a wire. The brown cable in the foreground of the picture shows a thin
black wire that is wrapped around the ferrite core - Custom Rubber Corp.'s unique
mold creates a water-tight seal around the cable entry point, forming a continuous loop, by holding this wire in place around one of the ferrite cores during the
molding process.

rubber BPL parts
pictured are not in stock or for sale. These are examples
of custom-manufactured products that illustrate Custom Rubber Corp.'s rubber engineering capabilities. Contact
