Molded Rubber Housing Unit
Having relied on Custom Rubber Corp.'s rubber design and rubber engineering capabilities in the past, an existing customer in the electric power utilities industry contacted Custom Rubber Corp. to mold a new rubber part. Pictured below is the final product: a molded rubber housing unit to store the cable assembly in the customer's application. (Continued below.)

After revising the design of this rubber part, Custom Rubber Corp. was able to provide a molded rubber housing unit that fit the customer's assembly and application perfectly. The configuration and design of the unit are engineered to meet several crucial requirements. The size and location of the outer holes allow the molded rubber housing unit to be press fit against studs, securing the rubber part in place. Inner holes on the part house diodes used for the communications application. These design features ensure that the molded rubber housing unit achieves a perfect fit when installed, preventing potting material from leaking out.
In addition to molding this rubber part to the engineered design specifications, Custom Rubber Corp. met finishing and material requirements when molding this rubber part. The rubber material Custom Rubber Corp. used to mold this rubber part allows it to withstand an ambient air temperature of up to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Molded to the customer's cosmetic standard, Custom Rubber Corp. manufactured a part with a parting line that would not interfere with the interior sealing surface.
