Molded Rubber Boot Design for Advanced Metering Gas Pump

This molded rubber boot is the result of a collaborative effort between Custom Rubber Corp. a manufacturer of energy measurement systems. This rubber smart boot cover is the result of extensive design adn engineering work. The molded rubber boot fits on the end of a gas pump and incorporates into its structure a sensor that detects the amount of gas vapor in the air.(Continued below.)

In the developmental stages, Custom Rubber Corp. and the customer utilized Custom Rubber's Corp.'s "CPR" program in order to explore the potential of a number of different designs. As the various prototypes were examined and refined, the design team was able to call upon Custom Rubber Corp.'s rubber molding expertise and engineering experience to determine the best way to manufacture this molded rubber boot cover.
