To make the unit as sturdy as possible, the rubber cap pictured here in molded in one piece. The body is designed to fit snugly around the electronic device, and the cap is in turn securely attached to the molded body by the integrated rubber lanyard.

The material used for the rubber cover is engineered to pass the UL-94V flammability specification in addition to being ozone resistant to ensure long-life in an outdoor environment.
