Overhead Unit Needs Rubber Expansion

Our original product for broadband over power lines (BPL) involved making a rubber lining to absorb the differing expansion and contraction rates of the magnetic material and the insulating covering. The specially formulated rubber compound does not interfere with the electronic workings of the unit, but has enough thickness and cusion to absorb the changing gap distance between the components when the weather changes. The development of the material was done quickly with the help of a few of Custom Rubber Corp.'s strategic partners to identify the right level of conductivity and compression/expansion. Since this first product, Custom Rubber Corp. has continued to assist in later versions of the BPL solution.

Bar-code scanner finds re-enforcement

A leading manufacturer of hand-held bar-code scanning equipment contacted Custom Rubber Corp. to assist in the design and manufacture of a rubber cover for their scanning units. The cover had to be durable, have a sure-grip texture, and also a number of optional cut-outs, depending on what options (like the pistol grip) their customer chose. Custom Rubber Corp. came through, designing a sleek boot, based on the 3D model of the plastic case. The new boot slips on and off easily, and helps the scanner survive the drops and bumps that happen every day.

Non-marking black rubber boot requires innovative material development

For a hand held electronic device, the manufacturer required a complex protective rubber boot—non-marking black rubber, of course. They called on Custom Rubber Corp. to validate their innovative rubber holster design and develop a non-marking black rubber material without carbon black that had the tensile strength to withstand molding and everyday use.
