Rectangular Molded Rubber Chevron Seal for Perfume Application

In desperate need of assistance in resolving a design flaw, a design and manufacturing group contacted Custom Rubber Corp. for help. One of their new products was rapidly approaching its launch date, and a small, previously insignificant rubber seal was failing, causing the entire device to fail as well. Despite their months of collabration with a foreign rubber manufacturer, the design group had had no success in resolving the issue. (Continued below.)

Custom Rubber Corp. was able to respond to their need and stepped in to begin work on improving the design of the seal. Part of the improvement process also involved identifying a rubber material that would not degrade when exposed to various perfumes, exotic oils, and extracts. Thanks to the extensive chemical engineering support provided by our strategic parnterships with our material suppliers, Custom Rubber Corp. was able to rapidly test various rubber compounds and identify the optimal compound for the seal.

Even while the rubber material was being identified, Custom Rubber Corp. designed and produced a single cavity prototype mold. The prototype was quickly approved, and Custom Rubber added three supplemental cavities to the prototype mold while construction on the production mold was started. This enabled Custom Rubber to produce enough rubber seals from the converted prototype mold to support the product launch and keep the entire project on time for the customer.
