Molded Silicone Rubber Grip for Rifle Scope

Pictured below is a hard gray plastic prototype and two black silicone rubber production parts that were used to make a silicone mold for cast urethane prototypes of the rifle scope grip. (Continued below.)

The silicone rubber used in molding the scope grip provides the soft-touch feel and guaranteed grip needed by a high-powered rifle scope that is used by the military and police force. The silicone rubber grip permits the user to adjust the amount of light entering the scope, allowing for clear visibility and accuracy in anything from the brightest sunlight to the darkest night.

The customer chose to work with Custom Rubber Corp. in designing this product because they needed parts for a trade show in only two weeks. Custom Rubber Corp. worked closely with the customer to finalize the product design and then delivered cast urethane parts in just five days—all over the Christmas Holidays, providing yet another example of our Responsiveness~ From Design to Delivery.

Following the delivery of the cast urethane parts for marketing materials and a trade show, Custom Rubber Corp. manufactured and delivered the parts from a single cavity prototype mold using the final rubber material. Both the material and the grip were subjected to extensive weather exposure and chemical resistance tests by the customer, but the final product passed all the tests without any problems.
