Custom Molded Six (6) Inch Rubber Roller

The picture below shows a very special product that was developed to assist in the agricultural seed germination process. The roller's fins are designed with an optimal height, width, and frequency to ensure that, when a film is run over the roller, the fins mold grooves into the film. These grooves then act as specially controlled germination homes for rows of seeds, which are placed into the molded grooves. (Continued below.)

The frame for the roller is a steel sleeve, which holds the roller bearings. This steel sleeve is then bonded to the rubber, which is made from a special compound that was designed using only FDA approved ingredients. Custom Rubber Corp. drew upon its extensive rubber molding experience in manufacturing this product since the low durometer of the material (20 on the Shore A scale) requires special processing techniques. Without these techniques, the rubber will be discolored, will not flow properly, and will not bond securely to the steel sleeve.
