Geared Rubber Bumper with Added Locking Grommets
The manufacturer of an automated pill dispensing machine contacted Custom
Rubber Corp. when they were in need of assistance in designing a rubber gearing mechanism for one
of the dispensing doors. Following a meeting with the customer and developing a clear understanding of all the existing and potential design issues, Custom Rubber Corp. suggested a different design that eased the machine assembly and reduced overall costs by eliminating
eliminated four other components present in the design. (Continued below.)

(Ref. 105477)
The most notable design feature change was the development of the two little rubber legs
that are visible in the photo. These slender additions are actually oversized grommets that have little rubber legsor pullers attached. When the unit is assembled, these rubber legs are pulled through small
holes visible on the back of the insert and the entire gear is locked in by an oversized grommet head that snaps
into place on the bottom side of the metal.
Assembly made easy: no glue, no fasteners required.
