Molded Rubber Shock Foot with Two Metal Inserts
The picture below demonstrates the unique design of this rubber isolator (or shock foot
assembly). There are two metal inserts bonded to the rubber in this product:
- A U-shaped metal bracket with three attachment points (two at the top
are visible in the photo).
- A steel bushing or sleeve that is held in position by the rubber around the front end.
(Continued below.)

(ref. #105550, 105645)
The design allows both the bracket and the subassembly to be secured in place: the bracket is mounted to
the frame of the device while the delicate subassembly is fastened
to the steel bushing or sleeve. The rubber in between the components isolates the subassembly, which is supported by multiple rubber parts.
Custom Rubber Corp.'s experience in bonding metal to rubber meant that we could take a design, which was complicated by multiple metal inserts,
and have the part production appear easy to our customer.
To best guarantee long life to the product Custom Rubber Corp. chose a rubber material and bonding agent that, when combined, would form a bond stronger than the tear strength of the rubber.

rubber and metal parts
pictured are not in stock or for sale. These are examples
of custom-manufactured products that illustrate Custom Rubber Corp.'s rubber design and bonding capabilities. Learn more about our experience in bonding rubber to metal.
