Special Rubber Material
A leading tier one supplier to the automotive industry tapped Custom Rubber Corp. to mold the rubber grommet pictured here, assembled with the metal stamping. The material selection went through a few trials and ultimately settled on a material that incorporated a special wax that bled to the surface shortly after molding. The wax on the surface gives the part a white hazy look, but most importantly provides built-in lubriaction which makes assembling the grommet significantly easier.
Custom Rubber Corp. is a long-time supplier to Tier 2 and Tier 3 automotive companies with a wide array of products. Our parts are used for noise and vibration dampening, muffler hangers, bumper stops under seats and tight-tolerance intricate seals for electronic sensors.
