Custom Rubber Corp. signs Technical Training Agreement
Custom Rubber Corp. recently entered into a long-term technical training agreement with Van Walworth of TechnoBiz USA. Walworth has spent the last 35 years in and around the rubber industry, with a primary focus on molded rubber components. He has previously worked at Parker-Hannifin, Wynn’s Precision, Ashtabula Rubber Company, and Thunderline Corp., Reeves Rubber and American Cast Iron Pipe Company. For the last 11 years, Walworth has been a full time consultant, and Custom Rubber Corp. has maintained a relationship with him for almost that entire time.
Many of Custom Rubber Corp.'s people have attended the classes Van Walworth teaches at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Specifically his Mold Design course and his course on Rubber to Metal bonding.
His work with Custom Rubber Corp. will include monthly visits where he will work with our newer Process Technicians and Supervisors to further develop their processing skills. These include;
-
Determining causes of scrap and adjusting machine parameters to correct the problem.
-
Reviewing general molding principals as outlined in his book, “Rubber Molding Principles”.
-
Teaching many in our facility how to use his “Rubber Molding Process-Troubleshooting Charts” to quickly address all types of molding issues.
-
Working with our maintenance staff to better understand the capabilities of our machines and suggest ways to improve the consistency from machine to machine.
-
Assisting our design team with mold design for new products.
We are excited to provide this opportunity to our technical staff. Growing the strength of our employees is key to our continued success and our ability to serve our current and prospective customers.
In time, Custom Rubber Corp. will have the most knowledgeable and most practiced technical staff of any company twice our size or smaller. We already have the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions for our current and prospective customers - with the addition of this training, we will improve our ability to optimize our manufacturing processes and get the most out of our equipment.
