Metal ID Sleeve in Molded Rubber Grommet
For vibration isolation, a proven design is a rubber grommet with a metal sleeve through the ID. The metal sleeve can either be press-fit after molding the rubber grommet or it can be adhered during molding using a heat-activated adhesive. In either case, the metal insert strengthens the ID in cases of severe vibration.
