Molded Rubber Foot Plate Adhered to Aluminum Casting

RESPONSIVENESS ~ FROM DESIGN TO DELIVERY™

  • Molded Rubber Foot Plate Adhered to Aluminum Casting Ref: 105356, 105391

Custom Rubber assisted the manufacturer of high-end wheel chairs with the development of a new, rubber-covered aluminum foot plate for a motorized chair.  The rubber foot pad is molded and then glued to the aluminum casting in a secondary operation in order to ease the dimensional tolerance requirements of the aluminum casting.  When bonding rubber to metal in a mold, the mold has to be able to clamp tightly on the metal insert to insure rubber does not bleed into areas where it's not supposed to be.  The tigher tolerances are costly to maintain on a cast part such as this foot plate.

The rubber cover has a light texture to eliminate any possibility of slipping, and also uses one of Custom Rubber Corp.'s non-marking black materials.

The molded rubber parts pictured are not in stock or for sale. These are examples of custom-manufactured products that illustrate Custom Rubber Corp.'s capabilities.
